Makita’s popular, high performance range of LXT power tools now includes the new DTD155 18v Brushless Impact Driver which is both compact, equalling the size of Makita’s 10.8v machines, and enormously powerful.
This model runs up to 3,000rpm in high mode, delivers an impressive 3,900 impacts per minute, and generates a substantial 140Nm maximum tightening torque. Weighing a comfortable and sleek 1.4kg, this smart impact driver with slim motor housing, will drive home a high strength M12 bolt, a M14 standard bolt, M8 machine screw and 90mm coarse thread screw.
The new DTD155 impact driver features Makita’s Brushless motor technology which substantially enhances the performance and longevity of the tool while reducing friction within the motor and so releasing greater power from the ‘engine’. This in turn extends the runtime of the battery and generates less heat, which in turn reduces maintenance.
Featuring a variable speed trigger, electric brake, and forward/reverse rotation selection, this model has low vibration and sound qualities, a 2-speed impact power selection, LED job light and comfortable soft grip handle.
The DTD155 also offers the new A-Mode (Assist-Mode) facility. When selected, rotation starts slowly allowing maximum control of the screw as it starts to bite into the material. Once the impact driver detects the screw tightening it switches to full speed and impact power to complete the tightening sequence. This valuable feature is designed to eliminate ‘screw cam-out’ and ‘cross threading’ caused by high speed rotation before the screw bites in the material. The new Makita DTD155 is available in a body only format.
A new 18v LXT 2-piece Brushless kit has also been introduced which includes the existing DTS141 Oil Pulse Driver and the DTD170 Impact Driver. This invaluable duo affords the benefit of a new form of hydraulic transmission in the DTS141 that delivers impact power whilst substantially reducing the machine’s operating vibration and noise levels. With existing impact drivers in the Makita range, the impact action is metal-to-metal with the high speed action damped by springs. In the Oil Pulse version hydraulic oil is compressed by a revolutionary rotary drive train and the hydraulic pressure promotes the impact action.
Twinned with the recently introduced DTD170 impact driver, which is technically a 6-function model with four speeds and matched impact power, it has the benefits of T-Mode, used for tightening self-drilling Tek screws, as well as the innovative A-Mode facility.
This 2-piece kit comes with two 18v 5.0Ah batteries, and a fast charger, delivered in a convenient and durable MAKPAC case.
